Do not Train your Child

It is important for the mother to avoid a school of parenting that endorses the training of babies so that parents can 'be in control' and make their child fit into their lives perfectly. A baby raised by this method may often be left alone in the night to cry for hours as a method of 'training' him or her to follow a certain sleeping or feeding schedule. Imagine how this makes an infant feel. He will assume that his cries for help are futile and will give up attempting to have his needs met. This distant form of parenting will create distant children in the future, who will grow up unconnected to their parents. The mother should never ignore her instinct to help her child, whatever the time or situation. Responsivity on the part of the parent will create a sense of trust and sensitivity in the child as well.
