Growth By Trimester

The three trimesters of pregnancy are of uneven length and are defined arbitrarily by the physiological growth and development of the fetus. It is conventionally accepted that the trimesters begin from the presupposed conception (two weeks after the mother's last period). The first trimester is comprised of the first 12 weeks of pregnancy beginning at the presumed conception. The second trimester is composed of weeks 13 through 28, and the third trimester represents the rest of the pregnancy, from weeks 29 to 40.
